Border detection/cel shading is so fucking ‘scene’ as it were.
It’s like an opportunity for games to say, “HEY LOOK, MY ART STYLE IS SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT! HEY, WOOOO LOOK AT ME! WOOOOOOOOO!!! OI! YOU AREN’T LOOKING!”

I think it looks good and that’s enough for me. I’m certainly not going to object to the art style on principal, although if they harp on about how original it looks at every opportunity I will be forced to pre-order the game purely so I can then cancel said pre-order.

I may have missed something… but why does it matter if it’s cel shaded / uses border detection or not?
I really couldn’t give a crap if it used fragglenomics as long as it looked good, and this does look fairly good.

This went from off the radar to bang on center of the radar with the art style. I loved the idea prior to the change in style but it always looked generic, I am glad they made the changes.

As if pump/mip/normal/specular mapping wasn’t an excuse for people to go “Wooo look at me I got them shaders on BAIITCHIS!”

I don’t like the way the game looks now.
I think they should have gone for more of a compromise between new and old looks, but the way it is now, just doesn’t seem to fit.
