Warner Bros. has released the first media for its recently announced “family friendly” Lord of the Rings game, Aragorn’s Quest. The trailer features an actual family. Of adorable tiny people. Sitting around a camp fire. The laughter of children is heavily featured.

It’s all over at Joystiq. Enjoy.

I don’t get what the fuss is about really. Hobbit/LOTR are kids books which most of us read as lil nippers, only to then nostalgically appreciate as adults. Sure they contain adult themes, but the best kids books always do.

All reminds me of the Harry Potter books – where grown ups suddenly think they can get away with reading kids books again for some oddball reason. ;)

So the ‘kids’ game version of LOTR seems a bit ironic. It is for kids, just deal with it. Nevermind the dark-assed Peter Jackson filmic interpretations.
