World cosplay record beaten (again)

The world record for the “largest gathering of people dressed as video game characters” has been beaten for what feels like the fiftieth time, with 376 cosplayers coming together at MCM in London last week to break the Expo’s previous record of 342.
Astonishing. See pictures of odd people here.

I was there dressed as kaname from vampire knight.
Don’t ever get a girlfriend interested in anime, you have to get on the public subway on a busy weekend dressed as a japanese school boy.
nice to contribute to a record though.

Pfft, Japan has a population of over 127 million and if stereotypes are anything to go by at least 300% of that figure are cosplayed up right this minute.

376? that’s pathetic. and very indicative of how niche that market really is.
i also could not give a flying horse about that record.

Most of these cosplays are terrible. Just look at the Hitsugaya and Master Chief.

Incidetally, at the exact same time and place, a new record was established for “most people vowing to never get laid”.
