I don’t know how anyone can use the browser based version of iPlayer. The quality is utterly horrible…

Yep, upscales really well even on a 32 inch telly. I don’t really bother with the pvr any more.

They’re releasing the HD version for ps3 in the coming weeks too

Reading EG’s article, it sounds very much like it’s just “Sky Player for 360″. Which is fine – Sky Player’s a decent enough service as it is. Subscribers can stream movies and shows and stuff whenever the mood takes them.

Not going to be much point for non-subscribers, though – there’s only a subset of Sky programming available on the Player and most of it is from Sky’s own channels.

Hopefully they can do one with Canal Plus in Europe. Although most of the Canal Plus countries are heavy Sony territory so I doubt MS’ll invest.

Doesn’t Sky power Sony’s Go View service?

I don’t think it will be long before the PS3 gets something like this.

Still, no need for a dish is pretty cool….though I imagine my enthusiasm will will dampened by the cost if Sky’s pricing is anything to go by.
