Second GTA IV DLC announced, named The Ballad of Gay Tony

Rockstar just confirmed the second piece of GTA IV DLC is called The Ballad of Gay Tony.
The company also said today that both pieces of DLC, the new episode and The Lost and Damned, are going to be made available on disc. The DVD will cost $39.99 and will be a standalone product: you won’t need GTA IV to play it.
Gay Tony hits this fall, priced 1600 MS Points.
Press release after the break.
Rockstar Games Announces Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony for Download on Xbox LIVE® and Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City Available on Disc for Xbox 360® this Fall

Rockstar Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), is proud to announce the fall release of both the second episode of Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony – exclusively for download on Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network, and Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City, which will include both episode one The Lost and Damned, and episode two The Ballad of Gay Tony together on a single disc exclusively for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.
“Liberty City is the most vibrant game world we’ve created yet. The episodic structure has allowed us to interweave stories, gameplay and atmosphere in a whole new way,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “The team at Rockstar North have yet again surpassed themselves, and made something that is both epic and very innovative. This episode’s focus on high-end night life contrasts with the biker gangs portrayed in The Lost and Damned, whilst giving us a lot of new gameplay possibilities.”
Grand Theft Auto IV’s second downloadable episode, The Ballad of Gay Tony injects Liberty City with an overdose of guns, glitz, and grime. As Luis Lopez, part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince (aka “Gay Tony”), players will struggle with the competing loyalties of family and friends, and with the uncertainty about who is real and who is fake in a world in which everyone has a price.
Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City delivers two games on one disc – the all-new episode The Ballad of Gay Tony and the first episode, The Lost and Damned – together on disc for the first time – for Xbox 360 for $39.99 and will not require a copy of the original Grand Theft Auto IV to play.
The Ballad of Gay Tony will release on Xbox LIVE this fall for $19.99 or 1600 MS points and requires players to have Grand Theft Auto IV for Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE membership to download.

Fucking retards at Epic Games: How to price DLC with style by Rockstar Games.
Probably kinda’ dumb but I thought they were just playing around with the gay moniker but it’s just hit they must be referring to the commonly used sense of gay as in homosexual.
I suppose you only have to look at the fruitily coloured font in the game title and add Rockstar’s penchant for stirring up controversy to work that one out I guess…or just not be an innocent idiot like I was when I read the story initially

the only GTAIV DLC I’d buy would be The story of Brucie, by far the most hilarious character in the game

But, the term “gay” is banned from XBox Live ….. isn’t it? How ironic.

If you had two friends in your social circle called Tony and one of them was gay, you’d probably all refer to him as ‘Gay Tony’. Not controversial.

lol! Count me in, if only for the pure message board glod this is going to provide today!
I think I’ll wait and pick up the disc version too, given that I’ve not bought TLAD yet. Should be able to get that for cheaper than the downloadable versions.

Actually, here’s a question – Microsoft signed a deal for these two episodes to be ‘exclusive DLC’.
If the games are on disc and standalone, do they still count as DLC? Is this where the rumours of the PS3 versions are coming from? No DLC, but a disc-based version?

We also know full well that it’s takes he sum total of fuck all to get the PC (politically correct) brigade up in arms where R* are involved. I just hope they do the gay thing without resorting to the offensive stereotype they’ve used in the past. Otherwise it’ll be the PC brigade in the right. And we can’t have that.

Pretty sure Gay Tony is already an established character in the storyline, much like what that chap from The Lost was. And I don’t think he’s a stereotypical flamboyant gay male either iirc. Tried to find something on YouTube to back this up but came up with nada, so I’m half guessing.

Luis’s write-up in the Wikipedia article shows both himself and Gay Tony as being recurring characters in TLAD.

Ah there we go. Guess all the ‘confusion’ really goes to show how much attention people pay to the storyline
