Rumour: Kojima’s “orange box” revealed in new Famitsu [Update]

kojimaorange2

Update: There another video after the break showing a virtual can of soda with Ocelot’s face stamped on it. Thanks, mart.

The back of the latest Famitsu appears to have thrown up a serious hint that the new Kojima project is a Metal Gear title.

Watch the video after the break. It shows a webcam pointed at the magazine bringing up a cardboard box topped with an orange exclamation mark.

Remember: rumour. It may well be fake.

E fucking 3, baby. Thanks, Shatner.

I can’t see Hideo jumping on the “Orange Box” wagon. However perhaps this is MGS4 – “Subsistance” or as it could be called “MGS4 : Sustenance”. Which would play along with the can etc.

Highly doubt it’s MGS5

Its a fake.
-Look at the famitsu cover (2nd video). wtf, 2008?
-Then look at the right bottom corner in the 2nd video at 0:45. Hit Lab logo (http://www.hitlabnz.org/wiki/Home)
-why in the first one the question mark page give the orange box and then THE SAME question mark give the can?

I’ve added a caveat.

@Zarckan: Konami did register “Metal Gear Solid Existence”… which is what the next one is most likely to be.

It must be a bundle of all the MGS for PS3 and 360, can’t see any other options. They would make millions on something like that.

This is old news and it is confirmed before that is fake.

@jonarob: Eye of judgement did that sort of thing in 2007. Wouldn’t be surprised if there were earlier examples too.

Apparently Kotaku pulled this yesterday. Sorry, it does look fake.

Lesson of the day: Don’t trust anything Shatner sends you.

But yes, jonarob, this sort of this is possible, with the right software and hardware.
