Leaked Trico footage is real, talk casts doubt on E3 reveal

Japanese game for a Japanese show, i dont really understand how anyone could expect it to be at E3.

Becuase it’s an internationally relevant game. By the same logic, why would they show GT5 at E3, rather than TGS?

It didn’t sell any better in Japan than it did here. It’s just Japan developed.

I’m still very dubious. Nobody answered my question properly (or even tried to). And those that felt sleighted seemed to think that mocking the mentality to ask questions was as good a response as answering them.

Anyone can release a fake trailer this close to E3 and expect gameblogs like this place to scoop it up and make a couple of stories from it. “Legitimising” this by asserting the less you see of it at E3 the more straight this story is doesn’t really convince me of anything.

As I say, I’m intrested in Team Ico’s next game. I’d just prefer news of it to come from more reliable sources. When someone’s tried to fool you once why should you believe them without questioning the source of the information? And if people refuse to answer straight, simple questions by acting like children why should that add any weight to their claims. If you want to be regarded as credible, try behaving in a credible manner.

So far all I can find from this is a ‘me too’ PlayStation blog, a games forum (already arguing with assumed expertise about what the game is and how it will end), and a whole lot of hype-blogs linking to them with some qoting ‘anonymous’ sources. Oooh! How mysteriously connected some people are!!

Would be nice to believe this but tracing the route to the origin, it’s about as credible as crop-circles being proof of UFOs.

What am I disregarding? A 2 year gap and the fact that leaks of major games news rarely appear from me-too single format games blogs run by amateurs? I’ve never said I don’t want to believe. I just don’t have any credible source of information that suggests I should. Dubious sources refusing to answer simple questions and just insisting they be believe because of their implied connnections just doesn’t cut it. Smells like a lot of bluff that I’ve seen before.

You first repeat to me that I have one reason for doubting it: the source.

And then you try to ridicule me for exactly that, as if I should believe it. Shatner, that is the lone doubt I have. The footage’s credibility is supported by far more obvious things that can be established through common sense.

#95 – I’m not persecuting anyone. I’ve not pointed a finger at any one individual in respect of this story. You’re distorting and dramatising things unnecessarily. Try not to do that.

My reasons for scepticism is because I wish to avoid disappointment. I’ve been given numerous reasons to mistrust unreliable sources, anonymous sources, sources that exaggerate, distort, mislead and misconstrue. I asked for clarification and got nothing but infantile retorts and belligerance.

I’m in the pursuit of a credible source. Nobody has yet been able to provide one. They just prefer to mock because I won’t blindly swallow information that others prefer to believe.

It’s as effective as writing “LOL” in response to every question in an exam. Sure, it’s a response and you can mock. It’s not actually an answer so it doesn’t really count for shit at the end of the day, does it? It’s just someone trying to act like a smartass.

If anything it further damages credibility instead of repairing it. The only people who think that’s a smart move are those who aren’t in the habit of being held accountable for anything they say.
