Avalanche lays off 20 staffers, Just Cause 2 unaffected

justcausea2

Avalanche Studios has given 20 of its employees three months notice while assuring the public that Just Cause 2 and The Hunter remain unaffected by the redundancies.

As a matter of fact, the company is at work on an unrevealed third project that already has publisher backing.

"It is a difficult business climate, but this is not nearly on the scale of the redundancies last year," said CEO Christofer Sunberg to GI.biz.

"As any other company we need to manage risks and sometimes that unfortunately means that we have to give notice and lay off staff. It's not more complicated than that."

Eidos confirmed that all is well with Just Cause 2 and it will still be shown at E3.
