I don’t think it’s another MG game. I think it will be something entirely new. For both the twins.

If it’s a 5, I’m going to bet its another Metal Gear game. That’s like his only game that’s made it to a number 5.

Surely, following his talk at GDC, if it was MGS related there’d be a bloody great metaphorical wall in the image.

I doubt it’s “Substance” Johnny, they already used that for MGS2. MGS3 was Subsistance. It could be another word I guess, but that setting isn’t really descriptive of MGS4 at all. I’m going with MGS5 with Raiden as the lead, hence the lightning and that.

Oh I know Mart, I even just ordered it off Amazon for the PS2 as I lost my original copy.

S…is for Storm. There’s turbulent weather featured on the site, and the loading screen shows a typical overcast cloud weather symbol, that gains lightning bolts when the loading is complete – so maybe Kojima’s new game is more meteorlogical, or just has some tie to the weather.

Or then again, “Raiden” is the god of lightning.

MGS5 exclusive for 360. I can see this shit happening. Microsoft is just paying every price devs want just to get exclusives. As always lame but thats Microsoft as we know them.

You see those Konami figures which show the 360 earns them almost nothing? Multi-plat future lies ahead for Kojima-san, whether he likes it or not.

Metal Gear Solid 5 for the iPhone, PSP and DS confirmed.

I mean come on, chaps. That’s a shot of an outdoors environment right there. Which consoles can you play games on outside?

And I think Roy Campbell will be the star. He’ll turn out to be another Big Boss clone, or something.

The 360 isn’t really popular in Japan, and Kojima will be looking at a primarily Japanese market. Not to mention that he’s spiritually devoted to the PS3 because of the cinematic things that Bluray allows him to do (he’s basically said as much). There’s only one format that could do what he needs that isn’t PS3: That’s a Bluray drive.

Still, I do enjoy the saga of XBox fans wanting, needing, desiring, lusting, panting, heaving, et cetera, after MGS4 and it appearing on the 360, the inevitable nature of it is almost as potently obvious as the latent desire to own a PS3 that some XBoxers have. It’s like being in the closet about being gay, it gets pretty obvious after a while.

It’s never going to happen, but please don’t lose hope! The hope leads to hilarious rumours and wanton amounts of naivety in comments/forum threds. <.< Which is highly amusing!

I think the next MGS is pretty much guaranteed to be a multiplarform affair… mostly because of all the noises Konami (and Kojima for that matter) keep making about wanting more Western sales.

I think Kojima will be looking to make as much money as possible and that won’t be made by focusing primarily at a Japanese market.

At some point, Kojima expressed a desire to design a game with Suda51 (No More Heroes, Killer7). This was supposed to be called Project S……..

Yeah, that may also be an “S” actually, and I kinda like the idea of seeing Kojima take on something new… he sure can put up some big fireworks there!
