Andy McNamara mentions that Microsoft wont let anyone see Splinter Cell Conviction. What does that mean? Ubisoft is developing and publishing the game. I know the game is supposedly exclusive to the XBox 360 but what is Microsoft’s involvement?

Yea the game Industry has turn In into a hardware side show. It’s no longer about the games. E3 is pretty much a hardware side show too. If I was a game devs or publisher I wouldn’t waste my time at E3. Money is better spent on making games with the high production costs on consoles.

It’s all about the press conferences. Everything else is a bonus. Or, as they all say there, a “noise”.

I think the way this console generation has pretty much been turned upon its head has helped put the focus on the three big press conferences. “How can Sony turn this around?” “What will Microsoft do next?” “How will Nintendo keep up their momentum?”

It makes for a more interesting time than when the PS2 was dominant, the Xbox was the shooter box and the GC was considered irrelevant.
