Atari will not be exhibiting at E3 this year

Atari has decided not to exhibit at E3 this year, although the company still plans to attend.

Speaking with Joystiq, an Atari representative told the site that a “proactive decision to attend but not exhibit at this year’s E3 event” was made so it could focus on “other selling and marketing initiatives” for Champions Online, Ghostbusters, and other unannounced titles.

While the publisher still feels E3 benefits the industry, its reasons for not attending will be announced in detail “sometime soon”.

E3 Needs to DIE! All it does is SUCK HUGE FINANCIAL resources out of companies. E3 is an Exclusive place for Fat Sweaty Nerds from Gamestop to gather, get tons of swag to place on their mantles next to sealed Star Wars Figures and Unopened cans of Halo Drinks. Who the Hell is going to walk into a Gamestop and Listen to Tweeny Emps tell you about how great a game was that they got to play. I am Glad Atari is spending their E3 Money on In House, and giving it to their emps and giving that time to focus on in house development. I have seen the Financial Statements of some of these companies, and E3 Cost them Massive Amounts. Pass that on to the emps and into the games instead of Sweaty Nerds who really have no impact on game sales to begin with. Make E3 a Total Online Experience for the world, and Let Gamestop for once Pay for its own emps to party till they stink like Camel Droppings!
