Activision’s released the first in-game footage of Modern Warfare 2. See it after the break.
Looks as though you’re going to be getting chilly in the shooter sequel. There’s video there of snowmobiles, helicopters in the snow and some more snow.
It’s very brief, but a full trailer’s to be shown on May 24.

Depends on how you define “better”.
I’d say that it won’t have many of the pretty effects that KZ2 has, but I’m sure that it will beat it in many other ways.
Besides, I wouldn’t complain if it looked exactly the same as COD4, but in a different setting, because COD4 looks suprisingly good when you hold it up next to KZ2 anyway.

Forgive me for wanting something new from this series. I’m surprised nobody’s ever done the whole ‘CoD 1.5′ thing with this series. They’re all entertaining but after the second game they’ve just become above average generic shooters.

What sort of new things are you thinking of? The game has shipped 13 million odd units in less than 2 years, and is still going for around full price. I can see why they’re not exactly desperate to change a winning formula.

still has the same price since it’s launch. i don’t think any game in the history of gaming has kept it’s price unchanged for such a long time.
cod4 has had no special discounts on steam since it was revealed.
was developed by infinity ward which r simply awesome. *i know everyone knows that but, who knows? maybe some ppl lived in caves until now and don’t know that the guys who made cod4 r not the same guys who made cod5, guys who btw, suck so much that they even failed at a simple copy/paste operation..
oh yeah, and i forgot to mention that i still love the game, cod4 that is. though i don’t play as often as i did in the past. l4d is just so gd. ;D
so imo, it’s impossible for this game to fail. worst thing that could happen is to be a little bit better than cod4 which i’m totally cool with. and a lot of ppl will be too. and it will still sell millions.
