Namco trademarks gaming title God Eater

godeater

Namco has filed a US trademark for a PC, console and mobile title called God Eater.

God Eater was also trademarked in Japan in October 2008.

Not much is really known other than that, and the trademark lists it for the above referenced ports. This is not an indication that it was announced for any specific platform and no word on content was included.

So it’s a mystery. But you like those.

Thanks, D’toid.

That seems like a pretty crap name.

I think Namco is almost charmingly oblivious as to how this little quirk of translation will go over in the media (if they bother to note it at all). I feel like I’m watching a car accident in progress, and I’m trying to yell out “Wait, stop!” but it’s too late.

I’m thinking it’ll be a Pac-Man spin-off. With Pac chasing popular deities, randy priests, Jehovah’s Witnesses, that kind of thing.
