Tuesday, 5th May 2009 10:08 GMT By Patrick Garratt

Speaking to Gamespot, Visceral Games boss Glen Schofield’s confirmed that Dead Space has thus far sold 1.4 million units.

Good stuff, and great news for the IP’s continuation.

Remember: EA full-year financials tonight.

Thanks, Kotaku.

Mirror’s Edge sold a million, too. This is good news for new stuff. Although I’d be interested to know if they actually made any money off of either of them.

A million probably isn’t enough. Thats why theyre making a quick cash-in for the Wii, methinks

DSE can still be a great game though

I think the major point here is that Schofield is already happy with those sales and that he believes sequels/spin-offs are viable.

More is always better of course but not every game needs to be as successful as CoD4 or WoW. Sales aren’t always an indicator of a game’s quality.

Has it sold so many due to prices being dropped everywhere, though? I’ll be honest, I thought it was a pretty dull game and far from the brown trouser fest I’d been led to believe.
