Did you get any sense they might be looking at making their own peripherals for EA Sports Active on other platforms Pat?

Acti Blizz are doing it for Tony Hawk's and if they really want to add in more sensors than the Wii Fit board gives them would sound like the way to go...

If you read into those quotes, I think they have huge plans for EA Sports Active. The PR woman said it had been spun off internally as a separate division.

Good interview. Find it quite interesting that they're investigating possible enhancements to the sports active package through HRM etc.

Utterly agree, on your final point in the second post, Johnny.
If there's one thing that's annoyed me about EA Sports (and why I'm less eager to buy their product, now) is because of not the dissolution of BIG, but that all those franchises like SSX (why DID they put those references on the Burnout Paradise demo - still not explained? :/) the NBA Street's, Def Jam - just stopped. :'(

I took that to mean, by what they did next, that the publisher thought they knew better than me, those games I actually wanted to play, and was interested in supporting (and, note, had been for years). Looking at that, then, there became too camps: Sim/Family, that they supported, initially, almost as polar opposites. Well, I don't want or value a realistic sports game that much, really, and the other side, fine as they might be in structure and design, the family stuff doesn't appeal either.
Frankly, I just want to have fun playing something that takes more risks, perhaps in terms of style, characterisation, or whatever; or where I do things I otherwise probably wouldn't get to, and if it has score attacks, competitive elements, and that which adds replay value - all the better.

What alternatives have there been to SSX, since (critically, the flaw came in their delivery of On Tour, not the game itself, which played fine it was just over-stylised - took over too much - and cluttered, which came across as confusion) the last gen edition? Shun White game? Not attractive, buggy, again, getting overcome by its style elements...How about Stoked? No European release plans, or region-free disc, for a game that looks head and shoulders beyond Ubisoft's sporty carve-em-up. Seems more to represent the sense of fun and yeah, just a bit, freedom you can enjoy with a snowboarding title.

So, yeah, EA Sports, not my favourite brand, right now - though I acknowledge they've made some strong progress in NFL, and were right this time to offer that split (as mentioned before) in terms of experience catered to platform. They were wrong, however, to kill BIG's legacy stone dead. I hope they will remember and support my interests again, soon, so they can cover that last base, they're currently missing altogether.

Too right Pat. This interview is clearly conversational in tone in a great ways, it makes VG247 look great to be on first name terms with Moore, so this was clearly the best way to present the interview.
