Zeno Clash launches on Steam

Zeno Clash has landed on Steam for $19.99, as promised.
ACE’s FPS uses the HL2 engine, and looks pretty darn good so far.
In the game, you play as Ghat, who’s forced into a “desperate journey past the forbidden desert and to the end of the world”.
Go see for yourself.

Looks like something Goya would have made if the people behind the Oddworld series stopped by for a pint. Colour me interested.

According to the Steam blurb, you’re the son of an “impressive hermaphrodite creature called Father-Mother”. Wicked.

First person close combat has never been my thing, even a pre-release price tag of £10 wasn’t enough to tempt me.

I predict like 3 hours of gameplay at best
but it looks jolly good, must say

The presentation is top notch, really well polished. The fighting controls offer a level of depth without being too complicated. The game does lead you through tutorial sections to teach you as there’s too much to learn in one shot. At times the controls can feel a little clumsy though, this seems to stem from design decisions to stop the game being twitch and make them consider their actions. For the most part it works but occasionally it’ll frustrate.
I played for an hour and a half and half of the map shown on the loading screen had been revealed, but you do return to areas so you can’t extrapolate total game time from that.
