WiiWare devs sales target limits rumoured

wiiware_logo

Kotaku’s posted up sales targets WiiWare developers apparently have to reach before they see any revenue at all.

And they are:

North America

If game is over 16MB – 6,000 units
If game is under 16MB – 4,000 units

Europe

If game is over 16MB – 3,000 units
If game is under 16MB – 2,000 units

Once devs break through these barriers, they receive 65 percent of revenue.

Gama learned of the practice of setting limits on WiiWare titles last week.

Would that 65% be retroactive as well?

That’s fine actually – I thought the dev wouldn’t see any profit on the first 3,000 sold (or whatever region you are in).

So it’s an understandable process by Nintendo and at least means ANY OLD shit won’t appear on there. And yes, you know by that I mean not even up to par with Pippa Funnel’s Horse Riding: CE Edition.
