Remember how Capcom announced Lost Planet 2 on Xbox Live and only confirmed it for 360? And remember how there was tons of speculation about whether or not it was coming to PS3?
Yeah, well it isn’t. Yet.
“We’re still thinking about it and haven’t announced a PS3 version, so we can’t say more about it just yet,” producer Jun Takeuchi told Gamesradar.
Takeuchi explained the reasoning about revealing the game on Live.
“We wanted to show the game first and foremost to fans of the original Lost Planet,” he added.
“We talked to Microsoft about doing it this way and they were interested in it as well. Also, I think it was a unique and memorable way to announce the game.”
There’s a full interview through there.

“We’ve taken Microsoft’s cash so we can’t actually mention the PS3 version for about 12 months.”

I’d say that’s about syllable-perfect.

I’d imagine that’s spot on.
Kind of funny, really, watching companies trying to say the right thing while skirting around contractual issues, isn’t it?
I wonder how many remaining commitments Capcom might have, as to tell the truth I’m sure they’re keen as hell to go fully multi-platform as soon as possible.

Money talks

While I, also, assume that money hats were exchanged, wouldn’t it make more sense (and probably be more expensive for MS) to seal this time-exclusive deal on Dead Rising 2 instead?

It could be money or it could be that it’s not worth using mt-framework 2.0 on the ps3 since mt-framework 1.0 did such a horrible job with the first Lost Planet on ps3.
