Hahahaha! Polyphony is a wholly owned Sony subsidiary. All the money comes back to Sony and tagging it as a loss of exclusive is just for the headlines. It’s Sony’s choice to put in it on a non-competing format and the enthusiasts will love it. Putting it out on the PC is no loss as it’s a piece of piss to convert due to most of development it will be running on a PC emulator as well as the PS3 dev kits. Only thing to worry about it PC spec.

If there’s damage on GT5 I will be happy.

I have waited forever for that, and I have a suspscion it won’t be there again.

But if it comes on PC it will be after GT5 Spec 3 is released.

I love both GRID and GT5P and while GRID is more fun then GT5P, the latter takes the crown when it comes to real driving physics. BTW, I use the G25 wheel on both the game. But when it coems to car modeling- there’s no doubt Polyphony Digital is one of the best out there.

Please excuse my ignorance… What exactly is the difference between a car simulation and a racing simulation?

Car sim is a simulation of cars and their performance, mods, accurate representations and time trials.

Racing sim tries to replicate real race conditions.

As much as in real life, tweaking your car to shave that extra 100th of a second off your lap time is a totally different ball game to going head to head with a grid full of cars, it’s different in this game. I used to hate Gran Turismo until I realised I was looking for the wrong thing in the game. Now I love it, and I almost exclusively play it in time trials, against the clock, then getting it back to the garage to make the adjustments. I know the game has racing modes, but I’m convinced they’re just there because the game would sell about 10 copies if they weren’t. The GT team are petrolheads, not race drivers.

I like Gran Turismo, the important thing to remember is that it's a car simulation, not a racing simulation. There's a difference. As a car sim, it's extremely good.

@Grimrita, I played the demo and that was enough to put me off. Later I did a race on a friend’s console and that confirmed my opinion of the game. You see, I find that playing a game is much better than watching a video to get a feel for physics, gameplay etc, but clearly you disagree. Hated the physics and the graphics made me think I had cataracts.

And don’t be a hypocrite. My post was no more immature than your initial post. Get off your high horse and practice what you preach.

GT5P doesn’t have realistic physics. I never said that it did.

My point was that GRID is a bit of a mess and its physics engine can turn totally comical all too often.

I played the demo and at one point my car ended up balancing perfectly upright on its nose after being sandwiched between two other cars!

The pysics in GRID are broken, and using it as an example that makes GT5′s bumber car physics look bad is way off.

LOL @ cort – grow up. GRID hasnt any ‘pivot poles’ theres even a video out there showing that it hasnt. Maybe you should actually play GRID first before making such a comment?

And I prefer actual damage, rather then unrealistic racing.

Well maybe people prefer arcade games then, because I seriously doubt that any of them have sold anywhere near as many copies as the GT series.

If the GT games are so much more popular than the likes of the GTR series, why wouldn’t PC gamers want to play them too?
