Blizzard secures rights to Redneck Rampage franchise

Thanks to the Vivendi demise that accompanied the formation of Activision-Blizzard, the new giant has secured the rights to hillbilly-shooter Redneck Rampage.
The game was originally developed by Xatrix Entertainment in 1997. Rights for all three titles in the series were sold to Vivendi in 2004.
Thanks, IncGamers.

WTF, the game was dire back then, why in god’s name would anyone want the rights to it?

Maybe someone high up at Blizzard thought the same and bought the rights, so that no one can ever make a sequel.
