Tales of Vesperia for PS3, tons of other Tales stuff in Jump

The latest issue of Japan’s Jump magazine has confirmed Tales of Vesperia for PS3. Never saw that coming.
There was lots of other Tales related stuff included. And here it is:
- Tales of Graces will be released for Wii later this year. Not much else is known other than you have to protect people and you have vowed to “never lose anyone again”. Right.
- Tales of Versus will arrive on PSP with four-player fight mode. Yuri (Tales of Vesperia), Luke (Tales of the Abyss), Shing (ToH) and Richter (ToSKoR) have been revealed. Possibly Lloyd as well.
- The PS3 version of Tales of Vesperia will include a new character named Patty Fleur.
Hit the link below to see a couple scans of the magazine. Doesn’t look like an April Fool to us.
Thanks, Kombo.

assuming this is true, does that mean that vesperia will be released this year in japan, next year in us and the year after for EU?

They tend to be ok, they actually use a type of real time battle system (atleast the ones i’ve played did) so i find them more interesting then Final-Over-Hyped-Fantasy.

Tales Of games have been around since the SNES days, randomly pick a system and you’ll find a Tales Of game for it… Apart from the PS3 till this announcment lol.

Namco just shot themselves in the foot.
I don’t know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I’m an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It’s not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.
What this means is the japanese public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase Tales of Vesperia for either system, nor will they purchase any of Namco’s games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Namco has alienated an entire market with this move.
Namco, publicly apologize and cancel Vesperia for PS3 or you can kiss your business goodbye.

Oh wait. Let me guess.
Sarcasm?
It tends to help to offer some hint as such. You know, what with the lack of vocals to work with.

WHOOOOOOSH!
If you were parodying PS3 fanboys of yesteryear, you should have done it more verbatim. Threatening suicide would have been a nice touch.
Incidentally, the Japanese do have strong and unique moral ideals that outsiders consider traditionalist, as do Americans, Britons, and Canadians. They just fail to live up to them as frequently as the rest of us
