BioWare - Dragon Age will "stand out more than a shooter will"

BioWare boss Greg Zeschuk has told VG247 that RPG Dragon Age Origins has more chance of making an impact for the developer than an action title.

"It will stand out more so than a shooter will," he said, speaking at GDC last week.

Zeschuk claimed the game, a fantasy affair due for release this year, was unique in its field.

"One of our rules is that we should never do the same thing twice," said Greg. "We always do the opposite and differentiation to us is a strong thing, because there is really nothing like Dragon Age out there."

BioWare co-head Ray Muzyka explained that the game was a "darker" proposition to competing products.

"We think this is a very exciting game that is very differentiated from anything on the market at this time. It's great value for fans," he said.

"It's a dark heroic fantasy that is gritty and mature and has twists with consequences."

Dragon Age: Origins is out in the back half of this year for PC and - supposedly - consoles.
