Yes, we know this should have gone up yesterday. We were so busy with GDC last week that we almost forgot to do it, but how could we live with ourselves if you didn't get your weekly MMO news update?

We couldn't. Loads going on with all of your favorites last week, so hit the link.

  • Darkfall's been patched, and the release notes are quite extensive. Too lengthy for here we're afraid, but you can hit this for the full thing. Also, if you were lucky enough to purchase the game recently and got charged twice, that problem's been fixed.
  • The Chronicles of Spellborn finally has a price point. You can play for free up to a certain point before being asked to subscribe. Costs are $15 monthly but may eventually reach $18 before the company decides on a flat out rate.
  • Warhammer Online will be getting a patch soon: Mythic's posted a preview of it up on the official site. So far, combat responsiveness improvements, a keep system interface upgrade, general UI improvements, RvR control rewards, an expansion to the Battle for the Gates of Ekrund, a Beyond the Sands live event and loads of bug fixes are in store for players. Return to Nordenwatch, a weekend event, is also planned.
  • The EVE Online Fanfest 2009 Fanfest in Reykjavik, Iceland will be taking place October 1-3 at the Laugardalshöll Convention Center. PVP tournaments, a chance to chat with the game's developers, videos and announcements on the future of EVE are all expected. Packages can be found here, and if you are planning to attend, you need to hurry: flights to Iceland sold out last year.
  • MMORPG has nine new screens posted of Star Wars: The Old Republic.
  • Funcom horror MMO The Secret World was shown at GDC. Thanks for not inviting us to take a look, Mr Funcom. There's an embargo on editorial, but it's expected to be lifted soon. Keep checking back with us until we hear something from someone.
  • Frogster is to release a new Runes of Magic instance called Runes of the Ice Dwarf Kingdom. Apparently it'll further expand the world of Taborea and introduce new challenges for level 35-40 characters. Also of interest is new item the Aggregator. It transfers the stats of an item onto another, allowing you to combine the best properties of two items.
  • Final Fantasy XI players will get a surprise in the April update, by way of upgrades to White Mage Play. Two new job abilities will be added, with ability delay set low. Sounds dandy. Full details here.
  • Linden Labs CFO John Zdanowski is leaving Second Life behind. According to a farewell post on the official site, he's decided to leave now the company's profitable. Slayed all the dragons and is off to find more, he said.
  • A new trailer for post apocalyptic MMO Fallen Earth is posted below. If you haven't signed up for the closed beta, get yourself over to the official site and get on it.
