SCEJ trademarks “PSCloud”

clouda

SCEJ’s trademarked “PSCloud,” as you can see here.

God knows why. Some Sony paranoia expert probably got their knickers in a twist what with the word “cloud” being injected into every other sentence on the internet last week. Blame OnLive.

Thanks, Kotaku.

Seeing as it has “PS” in the name its probaly an app and not a game.
Not to sure how these things work, is any of that stuff under “GOODS AND/OR SERVICES” usable as a clue?

I never realised that the US patent website abused capital letters so much…

Or could the next Playstation be copying the Onlive concept?

Serphemz – If you read through the patent you’ll notice that it certainly not a PSP game, but has indeed something to do with cloud computing.

Cloud computer service over PS3 or PSP?

It’s not impossible. All it would require is a firmware update.

I reckon they just filed the patent to be on the safe side.

Intensified Remote Play. This could allow PS2 games on the PS3…(With the PS2 games being on Sony’s servers and the PS3 acting as the PSP)

I agree with Syrok, looks like a placeholder patent, if i remember correctly Sony tend to do it often.
