Wii upgrades to version 4.0, SDHC card support

Wii owners should have noticed by now that their machines have updated to version 4.0 as the upgrade became available last night.
The biggest feature of the new firmware is SDHC support, meaning that Nintendo Wii now offers a suitable storage solution: SDHC cards go up to 32Gb. In fact, you can store up to 240 games on them.

Well, that’s handy, but I’d still like to be able to look at my SD card from the top ‘channels’ menu, and preferably be able to play VC/WW straight from there – even if after a slight pause for extraction into RAM. Why not, eh?
I’ve still got loads of room on my 2GB SD anyway.
Also, why is it that the Wii is the only console where if your machine dies or is stolen, you lose all your downloaded booty (as it is tied to the actual specific machine). Not fair at all.
