I’m hoping it brings us the EA Sports Home space too. Not that it needs a firmware update … just clutching at straws as it’s gone quiet since they said “due March”.

@shatner: I would happily do this, but I have the problem that there are too many servers on my network, which results in an error message poping up every few seconds once I turn on the media streaming function of the PS3.

@Silent: As far as I know you can stream content from your Mac to a PS3. Not sure whether that is also over tversity or another program.

Be interesting to see what this is. X-game invites and chat are top of my list.

Another shout for MKV support, although I know it’s not going to happen.

TVersity/PS3MediaServer are not viable solutions to me, since I have my PS3 wireless, and my PC wireless. I’ve tried streaming with both of them, and it’s very hit and miss due to this. I’ve no wish to trail huge cables around my house just to get the media server working decently.

This is going to be hilarious when so many people are going to be disappointed. If they do add cross-game voice chat, I suspect it will have to be implemented by the developer, just like custom soundtrax. If they get it to be system wide, then there’s even more of a reason to make custom soundtrax a system wide feature, regardless of made up patent violation excuses. My bet would be all that’s going to happen in 2.70 are a few bug fixes with some games and maybe the release of the ad-hoc party. But I’m sure so many here are going to hype themselves up only to be greatly disappointed later and text bomb the playstation blog with their anger.

Surely anything big like crossgame chat would be in 3.00 not .70…
