Pikmin 2 Wii-make – first footage

Saturday, 14th March 2009 08:00 GMT By Patrick Garratt

There’s a video of the upcoming Play Control! Wii version of Pikmin 2 after the break.

It looks really great, to be honest, although that may be because Little Pat decided she only wanted four hours sleep last night.

See for yourself. It out on April 24 in Europe.

Thanks, GoNintendo.

    I really wish I hadn’t sold my copy of Pikmin 2 :-(

Rather a port then a re-make, unless that what ‘Wii-make’ actually means. It pretty sad that Nintendos only solution to get ‘real games’ on the Wii is to port games from their older console.

It’s pretty sad that the plenty of ‘real games’ on the Wii get ignored because it’s there’s some misconceived notion that it’s not for ‘real gamers’. Sure there’s a huge amount of filler titles on it looking to exploit the wider demographic, but look carefully and you’ll notice there are just as many ‘real’ games on it as there were on the Gamecube or N64.

And I welcome what Nintendo are doing here by reintroducing some very good games from the GC era that were slept on and missed by many. Hell, they might even introduce/bridge the ‘wider demographic’ towards more complicated gaming experiences. Yes, it’s obviously a decent potential money spinner too, so it’s a good move.
