Confirmed: TT working on Lego Potter and Indy Crystal Skull games [Update]

A Traveller’s Tales employee has just confirmed to VG247 that she is working on both Lego Harry Potter and Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull at the UK developer.
“That’s right,” we were told on the phone when asked if the information was correct.
“But they’re not confirmed. I can’t really talk about them.”
An online CV let the cat out of the bag today, saying the staffer was working “on LEGO Harry Potter & LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull which are both in the early stages of production.”
Neither game has been officially announced.
A Lego Potter game has been long rumoured, and a second Indy title was heavily hinted at by the BBC earlier this year.
We’re contacting EA, Warner and Activision for comment now.
Update: Mention of both games has now been removed from the CV.
Update 2: This story originally contained the name of the staffer involved. After consideration, the person’s name and the link to their CV has been removed.

I feel there’s a lesson here somewhere, about what you should and shouldn’t list on an online CV that anyone can look at.
Possibly a costly one too, for the unfortunate XXXXXX.

Right, Zarckan. And it was equally scummy of them. But to phone her up and then quote her is equally disgusting.
I’ve heard people in the industry refer to VG247 as the ‘gutter press of games’. Now I understand what they mean.

Destined to become a case study in CV writing. A bit harsh yes, but frankly she really should have known better.

Geki Army of Two is being made in Montreal like the first one, its almost done but I digress… And getting ‘moved’ to montreal would be a step up from most UK cities. Just no footy.

Now that GI has removed their name and link, perhaps it would be nice of you to follow their lead? I’m certain, Pat, that you’ve got access to the comments to see the good reasons given as to why it was removed.

Well, I’ll explain my reasoning. Quite frankly, in my opinion I behaved perfectly properly. I followed a lead, checked with the person involved and reported accurately.
When I spoke to this person on the phone, I explained who I was and asked questions, to which I received the answers you can read above.
That’s what a news journalist does in the real world. The games industry has a serious problem understanding that, in my experience.
The “real” journalists (as in, those that work in mainstream media) that I’ve shown this story and thread to today have been completely dismissive of the reaction.
I removed the information because the intention with this story was never to damage, simply to report. I have no intention of making anyone’s life difficult, but the information had been posted in the public domain.
I’m not going to get into a “spat” with anyone over this. This is a public forum and you’re all welcome to voice your opinions in it, but the editorial on this site will continue as it is, whether you consider it to be representative of a “gutter” style or not.

Pat, please don’t think that I agree with any of the other comments given above. I have no problem with how you’ve behaved; you’ve only done what journalists are here to do. I made my suggestion because the story is the leaked information, not the leaker’s identity, and leaving the name can only cause further harm to a person who has acted stupidly, not maliciously.

Actually, the most horrifying thing about all this is the use of comic sans on her bloody website.

Ha ha very funny, you are full of it. I happen to know the person involved and was actually there while they took the call. I know for a fact that the phone conversation you mention did not happen the way you stated above. The statement “That’s right,” was in reference to whether they were the person named and they also stated that they wished to make no comment on this story. in addition to this they said that they wished to have their name taken off the article thinking you were from GI.biz, to which you responded that no article had yet been published. I would think this would have given you the idea but obviously not. They never confirmed
“A Traveller’s Tales employee has just confirmed to VG247 that **** is working on both Lego Harry Potter and Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull at the UK developer.”
kutsurogu was right on the money when he said…
“I’ve heard people in the industry refer to VG247 as the ‘gutter press of games’. Now I understand what they mean.”
