Atelier teased for PS3

atelierroronaa

According to this PS3Hyper story, the latest issue of DengekiPlayStation has a four-page ad teasing what looks to be a PS3 game in the Atelier series, namely Atelier Rorona.

Japanese retail listings are putting the RPG at a June 25 release.

Thanks Kotaku and Blerk.

The original Atelier Iris on PS2 was one of the best JRPGs on the system. Unfortunately they got steadily worse rather than better with each new release, which was a bit of a shame.

Hopefully the reboot will get them back to the top of their form.

I’m very interested in this. I’m a sucker for RPGs with this type of art style. I followed Trusty Bell news and when it came state side as Eternal Sonata I immediately ordered it from EBGames (hey it came with a Allegreto faceplate!).

I’m like you Blerk, I hope it is as good as it looks. I’ve been trying to justify a PS3 purchase. This game may be the ticket that will allow me to open my wallet. I am aware of the other great PS3 games, but I want this one first if it’s great.

I’ve played the first two games on PS2, they were funny, especially the first Eternal Mana. then I lost interest in them.
