First MadWorld review is a 9/10 [Update]

madworlda2

Update: EG’s given it 7/10. Thanks, Blerk.

IGN’s posted the first MadWorld review, giving the Platinum Wii actioner a straight 9/10.

Snip:

I realize that not everybody will find MadWorld’s unique visual and aural presentation appealing, but to me, the game is an instant collector’s item and a Wii showpiece, not just for its amazing style, but for its label-busting content. Anybody who says Nintendo’s console is just for kids will see things very differently after a few chainsaw- induced mutilations.

Video review after the break. It’s out this month.

Nah. I’ve been told it’s very good. Should get a copy this week, says Mr Sega.

Nintendo Power reviewed it last weekm giving 9/10 so it aint the first review for it :P

Also, Shatner has a point.

Whatever big title the Wii or DS gets, Casamassina hales these titles as the golden chariots sometimes when some of them arent.

Let me give you an example, when going over GOTY for 2006 (I think), all of the other IGN editors said The Twilight Princess was a good game but not the best Zelda of all time, 4th at best according to one editor.

Yet, Casamassina said it was the best Zelda of all time, even better then Ocarina. I remember this because it was in the last IGN Weekly which I viewed recent when I left home for Dublin a couple of weeks ago :P

However, all that said, Madworld looks set to be the first game I get for my game since Super Smash Bros Brawl.

Could it be? A Wii game that is actually decent?!

I had a good blast on this last month and I can say for sure that it plays incredibly well, looks outstanding, and despite its harsh pallette is very easy to take in.

The AI wasn’t particularly good but then again it wasn’t in Streets Of Rage 2 either :) Feels almost more like a trick-attack kind of game, the sort you perfect your combos on rather than worrying too much about sharp difficulty.

I will definitely pick this up – will have to wait til next month though I think.

It’s well deserved, cracking fun little game. Will have to find my Wii under all the dust :P

I’m kind of interested but also cautious. It’s the sort of thing I’d really like to try a demo of. Except Nintendo don’t do demos. Sigh.
