Rock Band will run out of Warner music by the end of the year

Warner and MTV may have reached a stalemate over how much Rock Band DLC is worth, which is likely to mean no more Warner music for the game.
Already-contracted content, however, will still be made available.
Those looking forward to tracks from The Grateful Dead, the Pretenders, Jane’s Addiction and others will still get them by the end of the year.
The aforementioned artists were signed to Rock Band before Warner decided it wanted more money for rights.
Look for Warner music to stop being offered by the end of 2009. Even if an agreement is reached it could take another five months to get more.

Considering the current state of the music industry, I can see them crawling back to EA and Harmonix pretty quickly when the profits start plummeting.
Statistics have already shown just how financially lucrative the music games are for the game developers and record labels alike.

this whole rock band GH DLC is getting out of hand. Damn casual games are taking over the industry.

…
Beat either of those games on Expert then come back and tell me it’s a “casual” game.

Its a game that appeals to almost every age group. That’s why its considered “CASUAL”. For assholes like you who live in their parents garage and thinks hes the next American Idol of rock, then expert applies to you. Have fun trying to master a plastic instrument loser. Everyone else will be up stairs banging your mom

…wow, taking my remark a little personally, aren’t you?
1) I haven’t lived with my parents for close on 7 years.
2) I couldn’t apply for American Idol. I live in Ireland.
People play games for many reason. For some of us, that reason is beating the challenges given to us, fake instrument or otherwise. Not that I’m actually good enough to beat the game on expert, mind.
When I think of “casual” I think of disposable, short-term, and easy games. I never said there was anything wrong with casual title, I just said it was wrong to label GH and RB as such.
