Sony announces upcoming Home updates

Sony Home community manager TedtheDog has put out a list of things to expect from the app in the coming months.
You’ll have to get it from CVG. There’s no link to the original post through there.
This week, users will get fixes to game-launching issues with patch 1.1, two free male and female Watchmen outfits and some Home avatar clothing.
Street Fighter IV unlockables, music within Home and more are listed after the break.
Patch 1.11
This is a minor bug fix release and addresses a problem with Game Launching. If you opened the list of game sessions available at the same time one of the sessions launched it could cause a crash.
WATCHMEN
Two complete outfits for male characters and black & white t-shirts for male and female characters are now available for free from the Threads store. Some of the items are not quite ready and will follow on as soon as they are.
Clothing
Various items of free and purchasable clothing have been added
Whats coming soon
Street Fighter IV
The unlockable items are already available in Home and are rewarded for winning online matches in the game.
Purchasable outfits will be available within a few weeks.
Home Square
A slightly updated Home Square will arrive in early March, possibly as early as the 5th.
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune Space
This is currently being worked on and we hope to release this for you within a few weeks
SOCOM: CONFRONTATION Space
This Space is also nearly ready but a specific date for its release is not yet available, but we are expecting it within a few weeks.
Siren: Blood Curse & Resident Evil 5, Warhawk
Content for all of these have arrived here and are being prepared for SCEE’s audience now. We will bring you more information on these as it becomes available.
Game Launching
Many titles are preparing support for Game Launching but this often requires a patch to their title. It is not our intention to be announcing new releases and patches to other titles here in the Home community but hope to bring you news in the coming weeks.
Music within Home
Playing your own music to others within Home is an extremely complex licensing issue that will take time to solve, if it is at all possible.
In the meantime we are investigating various ways of allowing you to play your own music to yourself. We are also talking to other 3rd parties about making their music available to you in various ways.

Funny they’d talk about music when originally you were supposed to be able to play movies in your apartment for others.

Sorry TEA, it’s been deemed that you’re too mentally unstable to respond to directly.

It’s not a rant, it’s what they promised and have failed to deliver, probably due to everyone’s first thought of “Hey! We can watch Divxs of movies / TV episodes we’ve downloaded!” copyright infringement.
Mind you, I don’t think they’ve even givin us picture frames for our apartments yet, either. Probably due to worries about porn or somesuch.

lol if thats your admission to surrender of my great debating skills then i happily accept
As for you Retroid, he/she is ranting because for someone who claims he/she has never downloaded home and wouldn’t bother to do so shouldn’t comment on features he/she isn’t missing. I also find it hard to believe that (it) has never visited home since (it) likes to be the be all know all of video game info. So (it) tries to pass on like on many video game sites. Hey (it) i was wondering what was it that got you banned on kotaku for?

Instead on wasting there time on this project, they should have done something that people actually care about, like making a better xmb experience for PS3 users.

Actually, Home is getting better and better each time I see it.
No, really, it is.
Once they implament watching videos from your HDD on a TV, listen to music in your apartment from a stereo and let us do our photos in our apartments, I’ll be using it all the time every day.
And yes, I am aware they were meant to implament it beforehand but they couldnt due to copyright issues.

Why would you want to do all that via Home though? (Not to mention that I doubt that any of that will ever be possible)

No TEA, it’s just people have noticed that when posters ignore you, you post far less. So it’s now considered the politeness to ignore you by default.
