Rumour: Syphon Filter 5 PS3 in development

According to this list, digital audio recording firm PCB Productions is working on facial motion capture for Syphon Filter 5 for PS3.
The title is apparently in development by Sony Bend Studios (Resistance PSP), and is featured within a long list of credits, including many other games, films and TV programs.
A new Syphon Filter game seems highly likely and the source seems genuine enough, but to be on the safe side we’ll label this as rumour for now.
Sony can expect an inquisitive email in its inbox on Monday.
Thanks, PSLS.

Yes please! It looks as though they’ve got the franchise back on track after the disastrous PS2 game too. The PSP games are excellent little titles.

I dunno… There’s some pretty inaccurate listings on there.
Havign said that, they are only platform inaccurate. One says Disgaea 3 is one PS2, which to my knowledge it isn’t.
But it’s not like any of the titles are made up, so… Perhaps at E3 we’ll have an announcement.

Shuei Yoshida said recently to some media recently (I think it was actually Eurogamer, dont quote me though, I dont think it might have even been Yoshida, him or Reeves) that there would be some new games revealed within the next couple of weeks.
My bet is this and Insomniac’s next one ala Ratchet and Clank.
*or Team ICO.
*will not happen, said to excite PUD

i loved the Syphon Filter series on the PS1 but for some reason no effort was made on the PS2, maybe the PS3 will see a return to form

Becuase you are the reputationally soiled Playstation Lifestyle maybe?
Johnny Cullen, it was Reeves, and believe me, that quote has been discussed to no end as to the possiblity of it beign the Team ICo announcement. Maybe 5 or 6 posts.
Most of us Team ICO fans have become so insanely jaded we cause most of the rumours about it and are endlessly cynical of actual information. So teasing won’t work.

@No_PUDding – I wasn’t aware our integrity was an issue. We did post this first. I don’t see how that soils us in anyway.
What does Team ICO have to do with Syphon Filter?

Vader, unless you can prove that Morriss didnt go over to that list on PCB Productions and get the news himself then theres no reason for him to credit you.

No problem Johnny, was just telling you how it is.
Douche Vader, perhaps I have jumped the gun here. Are you not the same PSLifestyle that rumoured Hardware 2?
In all honesty I think it’s as relevant as the journalist wants it to be regardless of your reputation. The source of information is not your site, nor exclusive to your site.
The reason I brought it up, is I was under the impression you DID rumour Hardware 2. In which case, I really don’t think your site deserves any credit. Regardless of unfortunate employment/source choices.

Oh, I see Pat edited it and added a link. Fair enough.
