Report: Acti threatens to sue EA over Brutal Legend publishing rights

brutallegenda1

Jesus. According to this Variety report, Activision is threatening to sue EA over rights to publish DoubleFine’s Brutal Legend.

Apparently a letter has been sent to EA, and possibly DoubleFine itself. Activision’s supposedly claiming it thought it was still in negotiations to publish the game and therefore see’s EA’s deal on the title as invalid.

This, in no way, sounds as though Activision fucked up by letting the game go only to realise how much buzz surrounded the project a few months down the line. No way.

An EA staffer told Variety, “We doubt that Activision would try to sue. That would be like a husband abandoning his family and then suing after his wife meets a better looking guy.”

Story of the day.

Riccitiello could kick Kotick’s ass in a fight.

I’d also pay good money to see that.

Oh come on, wasn’t it enough to drop the game and screw over Doublefine but to now try and screw up the new publishing deal?

Acti really are the new (old)EA…

Hey Kotick, why don’t you spend a little less time whining about Brutal legend, and have Raven make a new Heretic game.
Really stupid to let this game and Ghostbusters go.
Im starting to dislike Activision, used to love them.

So Acti see the acclaim the game has been getting so far so they decide to take on EA to publish it?

My god! Acti have become what EA used to be.

Grow up and accept that EA have become a better company then you have been lately.
