Report: Acti threatens to sue EA over Brutal Legend publishing rights

brutallegenda1

Jesus. According to this Variety report, Activision is threatening to sue EA over rights to publish DoubleFine's Brutal Legend.

Apparently a letter has been sent to EA, and possibly DoubleFine itself. Activision's supposedly claiming it thought it was still in negotiations to publish the game and therefore see's EA's deal on the title as invalid.

This, in no way, sounds as though Activision fucked up by letting the game go only to realise how much buzz surrounded the project a few months down the line. No way.

An EA staffer told Variety, "We doubt that Activision would try to sue. That would be like a husband abandoning his family and then suing after his wife meets a better looking guy."

Story of the day.
