Dawn of War 2 patch to be released after launch

Extensive patch notes are through the link, but it mainly boils down to new multiplayer maps and bug fixes.

The Dawn Of War 2 community site says the update is currently in testing at Microsoft and should be released within a few days of launch.

Bad things? Leaderboards and player stats will be reset when it goes live due to formatting changes.

The game’s out on February 20.

it’s a pity the leaderboards are being reset, noobs are going to get abused at launch

@ loki – clearly you’re a fool. How about the masses of console tat that requires patching on or after launch? Its not just the PC.

I’ve cancelled my pre-order on this after being dead excited because the first one was brilliant. However, having played the beta, I found out how they have changed the game entirely.

Take one Company of Heroes game engine, tweak it, slap new graphics on to essentially the same soldiers seen in CoH, call them Space Marines, Eldar etc, reskin it all and call it (shamefully) Dawn of War 2.

the disks were printed weeks ago so they could be delivered to shops while at the same time the beta was under way, based on the beta they’re adjusting the balance to make a better game from launch thanks to the patch, seems to me a far superior method than what you’d get on xbox live or psn
