Street Fighter IV’s first review is 9.3 from IGN

IGN’s posted the first Street Fighter IV review. It’s a whopping 9.3/10.

Street Fighter IV is a fantastic game overall and Capcom should be commended for designing a game that can work on so many levels by appealing to both casual and hardcore players. I’ll admit that when I first heard I was reviewing Street Fighter IV, I wasn’t terribly excited. I suppose I just didn’t think much of it. But as I played and experimented with each character, fighting a variety of the IGN folks and learning something new with every match, I realized just how irrevocably deep fighting games — and Street Fighter games in particular — really are. I encourage everyone to give Street Fighter IV a try, even if you’re relatively new to the fighting game scene. There’s so much depth to the gameplay that you’ll be rewarded long after your purchase.

IGN UK’s gone with 9.5.

Actually is dosnt count if its IGN UK, their scores are ridiculously high, US arnt all the exaggerated, atleast not all the time.

Wow – I think that video just sucked all the fun from the game. Where’s the mighty Tharg when you need him most??

I disagree, Geki. UK usually has the better writing, so I prefer that. As for astoundingly high, there’s a .2 difference between them!

Anyway, I’m astounded at the quality of the animation and the weight that each character possesses is conveyed very well. They really are 3D, and it all flows great! It’s almost reached a point now, of how can I not buy that!
I was iffy about it before, but it just looks to play so well.

First game ive ever pre-ordered (getting PC version)
Was worried at first when i heard the 3D thing but the gameplay (including hitboxes) is all 2D. None of that horrible, rubbish 3D junk at all.
Like many my childhood was filled with many an hour on Street Fighter II and so to see this latest incarnation is simply awesome
Hori RA on standby to own some fools ^_^
