Toppling the PS2's sales record would still be no small achievement for the Wii. The PS2 was very much an everyman console, catering to the hardcore and the casual market with equally solid titles. The Wii has proven that it's got the casual market sewn up, but until they have a title which gets the core gamer as excited as GTA3 did, then I still reckon they've got some work to do. It's certainly possible, but even if they manage to topple PS2's sales record, I doubt it will ever scathe the total software sales.
