So long as they don’t go bust before they release God of War 3, I couldn’t give a monkeys quite frankly.

The PS3 has a stellar software line-up this year, whatever your tastes are, so it’d be a huge shame if something terrible happened just as they were poised to please a lot of a happy gamers.

The fact that they’ve made a profit should be enough to keep it going seeing as how the rest of Sony corp has been struggling for multiple quarters. This hugh Yen is killing them and low sales of everything. Sony need to partner up with someone… maybe Apple can use it’s 20 Billion cash in the bank to move on Sony and bring more technology in-house. Or Maybe Google will secretly buy 1/2 shares and slowly turn it into a more stream lined corp.

It’s too big to fail, but they will likely sell off a few units if they can.

There is a big risk that’ll be the case… although I’d argue that as long as there isn’t another resolution increase (there really shouldn’t be) even moderate increases in power should delivery good results.

This years software releases for the PS3 look very strong.
Whether it means more sales, it’s hard to say.
Killzone2, God of war 3, Infamous, and uncharted 2 all look really good.

MS has not told us what we can really expect from 2009, though im betting Killer instinct will be announced this year. I’m betting Bioshock2, Mass Effect 2 will also be announced. It will be interesting to see what other surprises MS has for us at this years E3.
I’m hoping for Deus-ex 3 to be out this year too. A thief title would be nice as well.

I’m glad to see the PS3 didn’t succeed at $599, otherwise that would be the cost norm for future consoles.
I just hope we don’t get minimal upgrades for the next gen thanks to the success of the Wii
