WipEout HD updated to v1.26 – no-one knows what it does

wipeouthd1b.jpg

If you boot up what in our opinion is the best PSN title to date, WipEout HD, you’ll be prompted to update.

However, the only thing that seems to be different is that the version number is now 1.26 and not 1.20.

The update is 11Mb.

We’ll check with Sony right away and see if we can unravel this greatest of mysteries.

Version number updates are the best kind of updates.

Maybe it fixes the online part, which didn’t work after the firmware update. :)

I reckon it’s something to do with certain races’ AI being Expert even though you set the option to Novice.

You can get golds in most Novice events in the first go, but I’ve noticed some of the races on a certain track are solid as hell and take a lot of repeats to get 1st place.

It involves the resolution of error code 80022D11. It basically unlocks the game for those unlucky enough to have wondered into the simple trap of changing your details via the Account Management via the XMB. Doing something as simple as changing your email address would lock you out from the game and bring up the above error code. This has now been resolved with this update.
