Sony denies PSP2 rumours

psp1b.jpg

SCEE has apparently got in touch with Techradar to flatly deny the earlier rumours that a touch-screen PSP was coming soon.”

“Sony has flatly denied that a PSP mark 2 is in the works,” says the article. No quote was given.

We can’t say we’re surprised at this one, really.

More through the link if you need it.

MCV has a far more entertaining take:

“Clearly, being a quiet time of year, many, what we thought to be credible websites, are making up stories about PSP2, and how it allows you to teleport across the globe, travel through time, and will be powered by the horns of baby rhinoceroses.”

From ‘a source close to Sony’, apparently!

Of course they deny it. Otherwise no one would buy the PSP anymore and just wait for the PSP2.

It’s the second “rumour” I’ve heard about PSP2 though, so I certainly think it’s coming sooner rather than later.

yea the past ten years sony has been in denial about killing off sega, taking the crown away from nintendo and being the only ones who can stand up to the gameboy family with their own handheld. They’ve been in denail about selling over 100 million ps2′s world wide a console first BTW :P while vg247 still admits they are not biased…. gotta love the internet and wanna be journalist :P
