The Sims 3 release date slips
EA has admitted that it is “evaluating the launch window” for The Sims 3 after Euro retailers were last week that the game would be delayed, writes EG.
“We are evaluating the launch window. The game looks great and in the near future we’ll have more information,” the company said today.
The Sims 3 was originally slated for a release on February 20 but now has a tentative “first half of 2009″ slapped on it.

The Slims – body fascist games from EA.

Ratso – Nobody wants to look at fat people, let alone actually choose to play as them.

I take it you’re “nobody” then, Odessa?
Myself, I like some variety. I wouldn’t mind having an overweight person in my Sims family, and some around the neighbourhood. Seeing absolutely perfect barbie & ken doll-like people all the time makes me feel rather nauseous.

You can have overweight characters. At least in part one you could.

I go out of my way to make my characters look as unmuscular or un-hourglassed as I can in any game that has some sort of avatar creation system, so you can discount some of us from that “nobody” list already.
I don’t think we need a town of obese people (America has enough of that) but the variety should still be there, an “unfit” character in The Sims looks about the same weight as any normal healthy human being in reality does.

I was just making a very small wee gag about the (presumably) typo in the news item header.
And I think (hope) Odessa was kind of joining in with the gag…

Syrok: The first one was better than 2 (and I fear, 3) in that it actually had far more variety in the form of body styles.
I don’t seem to be able to recall being able to make an overweight character in the Sims 2, the closest I could get was the ghost of a beer belly. It looks like 3 might be the same again.
So 1 is still my favourite when it comes to Sims games, and the one I often find myself reinstalling when I feel like having a go of it again.
Ratso: Based on Sims 2 and the picture, I don’t think it was a typo–I think it was a poke in the ribs at the pretty, pretty people that the Sims seems to center around since the second game.

Well if so that went right over my head. I’ve never played a Sims game (not counting the original Sim City).
Mind you the feller in the middle seems to have a bit of a paunch.

Ratso – Correct, it was a joke.
Who would have thought that the internet didn’t have a sense of humour

I reacon the 2nd sims was a lot better that the 1st as you can interact with the sims better. Actually in the sims fit people look exactly the same as normal people and fat people are only a bit bigger than normal people, but thats cool. the sims 3 would be really cool though if you could design the houses better, like make castles and temples. that would be cool. I’m just really pissed off that it’s getting released in june, like I was looking forward to it as soon as sims 2 came out!!!!! thats really improffesional of them.
