No Elites in Halo: ODST
This week’s Bungie update reveals that there will be no Elites present in Halo: ODST.
The reason behind the move is that the Prophet of Truth considers the race to be “too splintered by heresy and derision” and so instead sends his best men in to do the job.
Also, the Brutes are truly committed to his cause and will never question his decisions.

Booo-erns! What’s Halo without the Elites. I just don’t understand Bungie sometimes. I mean, in the game the player plays as an ordinary soldier, not a super-soldier like Master Chief. So, why can’t the Elites take care of them? An army of Elites were a hassel for Master Chief, imagine how it would be for an ordinary Joe. Also, wasn’t an Elite shown on one of the promo-vids?

You’re probably thinking of Halo Wars, chief. Plenty of Elites in that.

Elites were the best enemies in Halo. Their presence was sorely missed from 3.

You’re right Hero. Thanks! I still believe that Elites are a signature part of the series. I mean can you imagine a Super Mario game (besides SMB2, since it was a remake of an existing game) that didn’t have goombas or koopa troopas? And if any games from that franchise do exist, it seemed kinda .. empty.
