US PSN update, January 22
No idea what happened to the European PSN update yesterday, but the Americans got new stuff. So that’s fine.
The F.E.A.R. 2 demo was the star of the show, and BUZZ! Quiz TV got an American Culture Pack.
That’s kind of it. Full thing on the PSBlog.

Euro PSN got an almost identical update – Buzz, FEAR 2, a shitload of overpriced PSP games…
/is still kinda pissed that downloadable PSP games aren’t playable on the PS3 – some have been really good value

I couldn’t believe it it when I saw EndWar downloadable for £40 on PSP. That has to be the most expensive game on the PSN store now. Hopefully people will see sense and just not buy this stuff until the marketing nonces understand that electronic distribution needs to be cheaper than retail.
If Sony can do Wipeout HD for £11.99 then there’s no excuse for that kind of bloated pricing from the other publishers imo.

It think the current “glut” of PSP stuff on PSN is really paving/testing the way for how they want to deliver content for PSP2. Shove a HDD or decent amount of solid state memory and I’d be all over it. Lose the UMD
.
The price of the Endwar title was a bit shocking – I thought it was the PS3 title initially. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was either mis-priced or a new era of games priced on a one to one parity with the Euro price. I have noticed a couple of titles creeping up in price as the pound has weakened.

Yep, games are more expensive on PSN. Whereas games like SSHD and such were £5 when they came out, new games are usually £7 now.
Annoying, if you ask me. It’ll result in me buying less of them.
