I think I’ve only ever owned two third-party peripherals – a Cube memory card that I got for free and binned because it was horribly wonky, and a PS2 pad which I got for free and gave to the kids to play with because it was completely awful.

Can anyone think of a third-party peripheral which is better than the official version? Or at least equivalent?

Edit: Oh – cables. No point at all in official cables.

My mobile phone charger is a third-party one, it’s better than the one Nokia supplied and half the price too.

I own a bunch of third party stuff, the Wii Zapper jumps to mind as being utter utter shit. I also swapped my HDD over to a 250GB model in my Playstation.

Plus in the case of the original Xbox before the controller S came out there was not much choice in going for a crappy third party pad if you wanted to play in comfort.

Heh – I still know people who swear blind the original Xbox controller was better than the S.

I still prefer The Duke to the S. Reassuringly massive.

What I love with controller talk, is talk of big hands.

People can admit to anything else a little bit feminine as a joke, but you never see anyone say they have small hands. Or admit to it, if they defintely do.

So let me say soemthing ridiculous here, I have average size hands, and controllers are absolutely invisible.

People who moan about controllers, have hidden agendas, becuase none of them are bad, and it’s all about which you are most used to playing with.

Or how wrong you hold it.

I still can’t understand why both pads are *above* the controller body.
