Is the PAL box art the same, though?

Wow.

That’s so imaginative.

A bit of an obvious choice.

Still, I won’t be buying it for the box.

What exactly do those guys have behind those masks that make their eyes glow like that? I’m imagining them having pumpkin lanterns for heads or something.

I know they’re supposed to have to wear masks because they had to alter themselves / were altered because of the atmosphere of the planet they colonised, but I always thought it looked… a bit cheap.

Like trying to find a way to differentiate similar-looking military ‘sides’ and giving one set glowing eyes was the best they could come up with.

Not exactly the best camouflage either.

Oh badguys, will you never learn!?

I always liked the look of the Helghast. They’re borderline generic, which is what you want for cannon fodder, but they’ve got the whole space-Nazi thing going for them.

They’re also stolen from an oldish manga.

They could have been influenced by the Brotherhood of Steel from the Fallout series.

@Retroid

That actually sounds really good, wouldn’t mind reading that. A quick Google suggests that it’s never actually been translated in to English.

Helghast look = copied from the Norts in the old Rogue Trooper strip in 2000AD. Fact.

Wasn’t this already revealed in other sites back in December?

EDIT: Found it, revealed in Dec. 24, here it is: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/12/24/killzone-2-cover-revealed/ from the PSblog.

Anyway, the cover isn’t bad, nor good, just ok to me. I don’t care, I just wanna play the damn thing!

Press Releases don’t keep up with official blogs clearly xD

Anyway, I noticed a huge likeness between the Helghast and the Combine, so really it’s not liek they are stolen from anywhere.

And the design for them, is some of the best charcter design I have ever seen.

The ISA scout, and virtually all the Helghast looks so damn cool. People who say they are generic literally have hidden agendas. Becuase it’s so cool.

Yep, KZ2′s official site has had this up for ages, both the PAL and US ones.
