This is nonsense. First of all, if Sony could cut the price to $99, they do it, obviously. Second, they can’t. They’re losing money at the current pricepoints, and have vowed as a division to *stop* losing more money on the PS3. Third, do you really think that Microsoft, which has proven its balls-to-the-wall dedication to market share this generation, is going to let a game system with Blu-Ray, Wifi, and standard hard drive support come onto price-parity with the 360? They’ll just slash the price again, knowing that any pain they take will be felt triple by Sony.

I think, frankly, that Pachter shouldn’t be getting the media exposure he’s getting. He changes his mind constantly and he’s wrong more times than he’s right.

With half the installed base in the US, compared to 360, PS3 only problem is price? Yeah, sure. It’s not as if word of mouth, friends playing online in a community and not the other, matter at all. No sir.
