UK developer Binary Tweed is working on Clover, a new puzzler for Microsoft’s XBLA that features platforming and political themes.
“The game is set in a medieval world where a ruling monarchy co-exists with a welfare state. Recently orphaned hero Sam travels around collecting stuff, solving logic problems and chatting to other characters,” writes EG.
“Clover is a game about artwork and plot; so much so that we’re struggling to fit everything within the size limit,” Binary Tweed boss Daniel Jones said.
“We wanted to make a game that has the artistic charm to appeal to a broad audience, while exploring issues that communicate to adult gamers.”

This is actually a community game. I’ve no idea why it’s getting so much mainstream coverage when 99% of the rest of the community games fly past completely unnoticed.
Am I supposed to have heard of Binary Tweed?

Obviously they’re 1) Actually bothering to promote it a bit, and 2) It’s actually got some mildly decent ideas to get interested out.
Kind like how Braid become such a huge success, despite seeming like a rather basic idea on the service. You’d be surprised just how many general gamers can appreciate a game made with a bit of heart.
