I already had a charger and several sets of batteries – even more people have these kinjds of things thanks to digital cameras and the like. My battery charger is also USB, so I can charge spare sets while I’m gaming

Pads, in general, do still need to be cheaper in general though.

I got my X360 controller for £20, so even with a play & charge it works out cheaper than a Dual-Shock 3

All the controllers are a rip off. Though actual price you can get them for differs significantly from RRP. You can get a 360 controller for £23, a PS3 controller for £30 and the Wii remote / nunchuck for £38.

Still pretty crappy though… especially the Wii prices.

My point being that all three consoles now have controllers that cost a significant (similar) amount and the first post was somewhat silly!

Better value for money?? That’s a laugh when Sony sell a second controller for £40 bloody quid. Now that really *is* a rip-off!!
