New Prototype video is incredible

prototype1b.jpg

After the break. Watch as protagonist Alex Mercer changes shape, leaps through the air, and comes crashing down with such an almighty thud that the shock waves uproot concrete and send cars flying through the air in this new footage of Radical Entertainment’s sandbox game, Prototype.

If that isn’t gaming at its finest, then we don’t know what is.

So this is what the clock was counting down to.

Anyway, watch after the break.

Hmm. I still think this looks a bit shonky. The ‘transformation’ effect is rubbish!

I disagree, the mechanics look terrific. Bear in mind it’s an open world, city-based game, so the graphics will never be able to compete with a corridor type game such as Gears.

It looks terrific, but not from this trailer.

Looks like it’s trying to do too much at one time to be honest. N3, Aliens, Parkour, Crackdown.

This has the look of an average release at best.

I’m inclined to agree this trailer was awesome. I’d been pretty meh on this game up till now

I think this’ll be a bit of all right.

After all, GTA IV was rather shit, wasn’t it? Too grey, carting people around the city every day–stuff like that. Except in this, one doesn’t have to play chauffeur, one caters to no one, steals the life of anyone they find interesting, and we can tear the city up with super-powers, too.

If GTA IV is a highly rated game, then this’ll send ratings through the roof, I’d say.

Hate those powers.

Wish games would focus on more classic powers, rather than invent their own.

I reckon this’ll end up being WELL buggy. It has a kind of overly chaotic look about it as if it’s juuussst about holding together at the seams.

inFamous looks a lot more ‘sturdy’ in comparison.
