According to a Sony Denmark release schedule acquired by videogaming247, ThatGameCompany’s lovely looking Flower will be released on PlayStation Network on February 19.

Yes, great. Just in time for spring, too. Well, almost.

You’re right! I don’t think that’s a coincidence.

Isn’t it supposed to be Katamari like? Where you go through a garden collecting pollen and growing flowers?
Good to hear it’s coming out soon, I’ve been waiting a while to try this out.

Very excited about this, although I don’t fully know what to expect. A Botanist’s version of Rez comes to mind, but we’ll see.

You essentially play the wind – blowing petals around, and collecting more and more, using your first petal to collect others, and then your ever-expanding group of petals picks up more and more to beautify each area. Certain flowers activate an Okami-esque translation where dry or sepia-toned fields suddenly turn a verdant green.
That’s about it, really, but each level adds its own wrinkles – the second has certain sparkles which allow you to paint the grass in one of three different colours, while the next one has windmills which push you forward automatically, so you have to be clever if you don’t want to miss any flowers.
It might not sound like much, but it’s a beautiful sensory experience.

And if you gather them up quickly in the right order it plays a melody.

And I think there’s quite a narrative ‘about’ it actually.
Urban vs Nature theme, I am kind of hoping that the final levels will actually be a city, that would be awesome, lets see how diverse the levels can get.

I thought that too, Pud. A city level could be quite a challenge and brilliant idea.

There was a narrative to Cloud, too.
